poems for when you miss someone continues Jason Phu’s multidisciplinary investigations, expressed through a series of paintings on wooden boards. Phu's paintings are inspired by Menshen, or Door Gods, the divine guardians of doors and gates who are celebrated for protecting against evil influences and bad thoughts. Phu reflects on notions of love and longing with poems for when you miss someone, creating a series of his very own Door Gods, to ward off the longing and heartache of missing a lover. Through his witty use of poetry, narration, illustration and irreverent humour, Phu poignantly taps into the foibles of human connection.
