David Griggs finalist in 2019 Archibald Prize & 2019 Sulman Prize

David Griggs is a finalist in the 2019 Archibald Prize (for a portrait of Alexie Glass-Kantor, Executive Director of Artspace) and the 2019 Sir John Sulman Prize.

Grigg's says of his portrait of Alexie:
‘I wanted to paint Alexie as a thank you for looking out for me during a hard time. In turn, she allowed me into her own internal world in all its glory and pain. The painting you see is a mood, a free-flowing creative exchange between two humans, two friends.’

This is David Griggs’ eighth time as a finalist in the Archibald Prize.
