Daniel Boyd in Kaldor Public Art Project at Carriageworks

12 April 2019

Daniel Boyd has been announced as a collaborator in the next Kaldor Public Art Project, producing a porous light installation for the Clothing Store spaces at Carriageworks.

Project 34: ‘Absorption' will be led by Asad Raza, who will be presenting his work in Australia for the first time. Developed in consultation with biologists and environmental scientists, ‘Absorption’ will comprise an installation with organic elements that will mediate interactions in the space, setting the scene for collaborations, rituals, and conversations. Much of Raza’s work has a strong collaborative dimension. During his visits to Australia over the past year, Raza has invited artists to develop initiatives that move the project beyond an individual artist’s vision to a project that evolves and changes throughout its duration. Focussing on dialogue and collaboration, these artist interventions take the form of installations, performances, and experiments.

‘Absorption’ will run from 3–19 May 2019 in the Clothing Store building at Carriageworks, Sydney.
