STATION | SYDNEY

STATION is delighted to present  Unsettled Subjects a group exhibition in celebration of the 100-year anniversary of Surrealism.

The exhibition features the works of STATION represented artists Kate Bohunnis, Séraphine Pick and Michelle Ussher and guest artists Pat Brassington, Judy Chicago and  Sana Shahmuradova Tanska.

Unsettled Subjects considers how contemporary artistic practices use the body as a site to embrace aesthetics of the irrational to amplify subjective experiences of the world, echoing through the lens of Surrealism. Each artist presents the body as a medium for both personal and political expression, their evocative subjects challenging our perceptions of familiarity, experience and embodiment. Through drawing, painting and sculpture, they create atmospheric works that blur the boundaries between reality and fantasy, reflecting the tension between our internal and external worlds.
