STATION is delighted to present a solo exhibition of new work by Sydney-based artist Tom Polo at STATION Naarm/Melbourne.

Working across painting and installation, Polo explores how conversation, gesture and exchange become embodied acts of portraiture. Moving between abstraction and figuration, Polo's paintings blur boundaries between self and other, often revealing the complexities of identity.

Drawn to the psychology of mirroring, Polo is influenced by the social encounters and time spent with others in the studio, borrowing fragments that he translates into his works. In doing so, he captures the intimacy and theatricality of shared human experience, presenting his paintings as both mirror and portal.
