STATION is delighted to present Earth 2 by André Piguet, the artist’s sixth solo exhibition with the
gallery.

Piguet’s multi-disciplinary practice is rooted in his ongoing dialogue with diverse materials, exploring their potentials and limitations. His work evokes elements from the natural world, yet resists literal representation; instead, focusing on the dynamic exploration of form, texture and atmosphere.

In this new series of works on paper, Piguet continues his material-driven experimentation, striking a balance between expression and restraint. Created using Kozo, a Japanese paper made from Mulberry tree bark, and a variety of mineral pigments such as iron oxide, mica, carbon inks and starch binders, Piguet challenges the capabilities of these diverse substances while offering room for the works to develop freely. Eliminating the heavy hand of compositional concern, the artist allows the unique potentials and limitations of these materials to guide the direction of the artwork, resulting in a collection of works that feel direct and self-generated.
